The 305 V6 was most likely the torquiest motor I ever drove. I had a used (110K
miles) on a 67 GMC 3/4 ton. I put 19 railroad ties in the bed and tied them
down. I drove off like they were never there. The gas milage never did vary. I
got 11 MPG everywhere. There were several posting about a month ago on the 305
V6 but I did not save them. Public service of oklahoma used to use them in the
2 ton line trucks for setting poles. All the torque is developed below 2500
RPM. Check with your library and you will find that for torque and reliability,
this old motor is hard to beat. Just do not expect to win any races.

Bob, What is the skinny on a 305 v6? Is it a good torquey motor? Use the old
chevy bell housing and clutch or do I want the Jimmy? and are Motor mounts a
challenge?
Yes, I am the one who refinished the cabinet to balance out the scales and get
permission from the war department .(my wife)
