I think this is caused by a combination of rusty, balky hinges, and sloppy
bushings. After the repair, definitely rebuild the hinges. As for the repair
of the door, look at the top hinge for inspiration. The hinge is supported
on both sides. First, weld in what's left of the old plate. Try to get it
within about a 1/16 of an inch. Then weld in a plate over the bottom hinge.
Be sure to locate the holes for the hinge. This will put it in double sheer,
like the top. Shouldn't have any more problems. I will be doing this to my
