To clear the carbon from the valves I have poured water straight down the carb with the engine running at about 2500 rpm. An old timer told me this trick. Pour it in fast enough to slow the engine with out locking it up....this causes it to ping and steam cleans the valves! I use a 20 oz soda bottle with my thumb over the opening to regulate the flow. If it's going to work/help you should only need to run 1 or 2 bottles through. Mike B. '56 8400 Wrecker :) |
