There are a variety of gas tank sealers available, from POR 15, Bill Hirsch
and others. The vendors such as Chevy Duty should carry it. The place that
boiled out the gas tank of my '58 sold me a quart can of the stuff. Four
years later, still no problems. I know some people are concerned about the
possibility of the stuff peeling off and clogging your fuel system, but it's
worked for me.

You pour it into your tank and slosh it around REAL well. You want it to
coat the entire inner surface of your tank to be effective. You must shake
the tank, rotate it in every direction, continuously for several minutes.
When finished, turn the tank upside down and pour out the remainder. There
will be very little, if any, of the sealer left when you're done. But be
sure and do this to avoid clogging your fuel system with leftover sealer.

Let the tank dry for the period specified on the can (mine was overnight).
For safety's sake, you might want to let it dry several days before using
it.
