E-mail is far from secure. Don't e-mail anything that you consider
sensitive information (i.e. credit card numbers, SSN, etc.) unless you use
some sort of encryption (PGP is about the best going for maximum security,
but there are others that are easier to use). There are many ways to
encrypt data, but E-mail is not (normally), it can be read by virtually
anyone between you and your intended recipient. I am not sure, but I think
that the archives of this list may be available to non-list members (maybe
Ted or Miq could shed some light on this). A friend of mine was going to
college back East a few years ago, and they had an incident in where a VERY
private e-mail between a mother and daughter got posted to a bulletin
board. The e-mail had been intercepted and some nefarious individual who
used it to publicly embarrass the two people involved. Just a little "food
