I run LT215-85R16 tires on my '53 1/2 ton. I think they are the single best
improvement I have made to the old beast. The steering is much easier then
the bias ply tires I had previously. However, at least one other list
member had exactly the opposite results and switched from radials to bias
ply tires. When my current set wears out, I will try to find the next
smaller size. I think the stock rims are slightly too narrow for the 215s.
All tires will appear to perform badly if the wheel bearings are out of
adustment. My 2 cents :)
