I don't know about Texas but I had a storage unit in one of these self
storage places that let you store vehicles in them.  The only concern was it
didn't have a gas tank only partially full.  They said they would rather
have a full tank of gas than an almost empty one. Or the tank could be
removed.  The reasoning was a partial filled tank would ignite quicker that
a full one.   Just passing it on don't know if thats a valid reason or not.

When I went to clean out my storage unit the guy next to me had two units
side by side and had been running a cabinet shop out of them for a year or
so. In one he was using power tools and a paint sprayer.   You should check
with the managers of the units and see if there are any rules against it in
Texas
