[oletrucks] VIN Number

Have recently acquired a 1954(?) Chevy 1/2 ton pickup. Have not been
able to locate VIN number - Looked on the drivers side door post - Does
Chevy stamp it anyplace else
        Also need to know vehicle weight - troopers stoped me while hauling it
and said my trailer was overloaded - but I think that this vehicle is
underweight 
        any help appreciated
