Here's the trick:
Items needed: ~4' OF BAILING WIRE HEAVY PLIERS/VISE GRIP LONG
NOSE/NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS WIRE CUTTERS
1. Connect the rear end of the spring. (The end towards the rear of the
truck).
2. Twist a 1" loop in the bailing wire, and position it along the path
towards the front spring connection point. Connect the front of the spring
to the loop in the wire.
3. Crimp the heavy pliers or vise grips on the wire. You will pull the
wire towards the front connection point with the pliers. (This is easily
accomplished with your right hand, while looking up at the unit).
4. With you left hand, use the long-nosed pliers to position the front
spring to its connecting point. Don't worry that the wire will be connected
to the spring.
5. Once the front of the spring is connected, use the wire cutters to cut
through the loop, and pull the wire free.
6. 'VOILA!!' Plain and simple.
7. Drink two cold beers and think of how those red-necks in Idaho got to
be so ingenious.
