Ron,
my 228 was painted entirely in a red/orange, including the valve cover.
I'm pretty sure this was original. It's a different color that the Chevy
engine paint though, not so much orange in it. I've never seen this color
available but one of the paint specialists like Bill Hirsch Co. may be able
to match it.
