Tom, I just went through a driveline bearing / Ujoint replacement on my '49. Although our models are diffenent, I would suspect something other than the Ujoint (either tranny, driveline or rear end). My Ujoint was completely shot and the truck vibrated like crazy under load. When I let off the gas / or engaged the clutch, the vibration pretty much went away.
