Sorry for mis-reading your post, I thought you were hving problems with the
shackles. THe spring eye bolts can be a real bear to get out. Shop manual
says to remove the grease fittings, thread in an adapter and use a slide
hammer to pull the pins out of the spring eye bushings. When I did mine, I
couldn't find a big enough slide hammer, so I kluged up a sort of a puller
with a long bolt, spacers and double nuts. It still took overnight soaking
in penetrating oil and a lot of heat. In hindsight it would have been easier
to cut the frame brackets off and have the pins pressed out. Hope you don't
have to resort to that.
