When I replaced the one in my '50, the place I purchased the bushing from
rented me the tool to remove the old bushing prior to driving in the new one.
It has little metal fingers on it the slips between the drive shaft and bushing
with an expander - works great. Rented from Vintage Automotive in Woodinville,
Washington.

Hi Group,
First post.
Replacing the tranny in my '53 GMC and ordered up a new torque tube bushing
from Jim Carter to replace
the existing "short bushing" right at the u-joint end of the torque tube.
Do I just push in the old bushing
forcing it down the tube or do I have to take it out?? If I have to remove
it, how?
I seem to remember someone said to just push the old one down the line.
