Don, the red color Chevy used was "Swift's Red"....at least for the '47.
That's what's listed in the 1947 specs from Chevy.  The pinstripe around the
cab was "Argent Silver" if the truck was painted Swift's Red.  Cab pinstripe
was 1/4".  I assume these color schemes remained in effect for 1948.  Specs
also say that Argent Silver 1/8" pinstripes were also used "On painted
grille only".  I added the silver cab and grille pinstripes and they look
really good on the red truck.

In regard to the "Cape Maroon" paint we've been discussing, the specs say
the pinstripe around the cab was "Gold" as a match with this color.
