Smokey- I looked in my "Chevy Truck ID Numbers" book, and all I could
get on your VIN was the following:
According to this book, the first part of your VIN should be a number
(1,2,3,5,6,8,9,14,20,21), which identifies the assembly plant (seems
like most trucks here in TX were made in St. Louis). If yours has an "A"
then I am as confused as you.
The second digit identifies the year of manufacture (H=1950)
The third digit identifies the series (1500=J, 3100=P, 3600=R, 3800=S).
If yours is "C", then I have no idea.
The fourth digit identifies the month of manufacture (A=January)
The last 6 digits identify the production # at the plant of manufacture.
Wish I could have been more help.
