Ok two questions...maybe more...
I have a set of heads from a 57 chevy 283... these were known as
"Power Pack" heads and were used on the corvette with fuel injection...
hence they were also called "fuelie" heads... I have lost track as to why
these were so valuable at the time... I think they had larger valves and
ports and the combustion chambers were smaller...since then newer style
production heads have surpassed the performance features of these
and now I want to know what they would be worth and to first check with
the list to see if anyone knew anything about them and / or were interested
in using them for a restoration of that year???
Who knows how and or if you need to index a camshaft on a stock
replacement installation.... Do the gear and chain assy come adjustable?
I don't remember seeing that the last time I changed timing gears. I thought
they were preset and all you did was line up the marks on the gears...
You can respond to me or the list I think it would be a good issue for
discussion...
What is meant by the term (1.68?) second gear when referring to a 3
speed transmission. Is that input to output shaft ratio? And what year
transmissions would have that gear?
Thanks for listening and being there as always!
