Subject: [Nobbc] The TR-6 Toyota trans Conversion
Thank all who offered services and grunt work in the installation of the
Toyota trans. On Friday last I finally found a way to get it in fairly easily.
Went and bought a few 5/16" x 4" bolts, cut the heads off and screwed the
bolts into the top mounting holes. With that done with little adjustment I was
able to hang the trans on those bolts and it slid right into place. What a
relief.
I bolted it in with a safe minimum of the required bolts so that before I
closed everything up I could make sure that everything was functional.
Hydraulics working OK etc. Took a look at the starter and noted that the
pinion assembly was buggered. It's off in the repair shop and should be done
mid week.
Meanwhile I'll put fresh Hydro fluid in the brake and clutch cylinders, adjust
the rear brakes and do some detailing.
Getting close I think.
Thanks again for your offers of assistance.
Deano
