Hi, just came back from a trip and found about a billion emails including
yours. I just did a 5speed conversion (HVDA) on a 67 TR4A, and it was
without question the best conversion I've ever tried, and it totally
transformed the car. Smooth shifting, no rattle (no anchor hanging off the
back of the tranny either), and a really relaxing 5th gear going down the
road with other modern cars. Herman Van Den Akker (HVDA) is extremely
helpful both in person and on the phone, and if you were to take a ride down
to his house to pick it up, the savings of no sales tax would almost pay for
the trip down. Herman also put the bellhousing and tranny together while
there, and gave a lot of hints along the way. There is a nice B&B just down
the road from Hermans house. Feel free to ask me any details about the
conversion.
