G'day Morris-Listers....
Twelve months after the gearbox disgraced itself on the track at Wakefield
Park the Oxford was back racing again at the all-British Race Meeting at
Wakefield Park on Sunday.
The new engine pulls strongly and the car was competitive - matching Bruce
Smith's MG Magnette on lap times. The final race of the day had the Oxford
and the Magnette side by side for most of the 5 lap race - and the cars
crossed the line together. We both improved our lap times by 1.5 seconds
from our previous bests.
I've decided to have a race inter-state so I've entered for the Queensland
Historic Racing & Classic Car Festival at Queensland Raceway on 27/28-July.
If any other Morris enthusiasts are going please drop by my pitch in the
Paddock and say G'day - Don Titcume, also from Sydney, will also be there
racing his Morris Major.
Keep on revving....
