Dear Listers,
As an avid collector of automotive models (1100 items in my current
collection) I have read in Model Auto Review (a Leeds UK publication) that
Minichamps is planning 18th scale Minor models for introduction later this
year. This is great news for Minor owners who would like to have a large
scale Minor model on their desk or mantle piece. It appears that
Minichamps, a well known German diecast model maker, is planning to
introduce a 1959 Minor saloon in the third quarter of 2002. It is unknown
if this is to be a four door or two door. Then in the fourth quarter they
are scheduled to introduce a Traveler and a convertible. Judging by
Minichamps prior offerings in 43rd scale and 18th scale they do a very high
quality job on their models usually including chassis details, interior
details and sometimes engine compartment details. The model reference
numbers are 100137000, 100137010, and 100137030, in order of introduction.
For those not familiar with model scales an 18th scale Minor would
measure about 8 inches long.
