Gang,
Today I spent it working on the Morgan. As I said yesterday, I wasn't
getting any gas to the carb. So I pulled the output pipe from the fuel
pump and blew it out. Then I pulled the fuel pump and cleaned a bunch of
gunk out of it. Then pulled the main fuel line from the tank and blew it
out. And finally drained the remaining 4 gal of stale, yellow/browish
gas out of the tank.
Put everything back together, put 4 gal of new gas (@ $2.80/gal) in. She
fired right up and purred..... So now I'll have to take her for a spin
in the next couple of days.
One nice thing about the 4/4 and the Zenith V32 carb, is that you can drop
the float bowl, similar to removing the float bowl covers off the SUs. So
I could fill that up with gas, and have a few minutes of run time. So
moving the car around and getting the pump to pull fuel again, is easy.
Not sitting there cranking forever, until I get a dead battery. :)
