This has to be close to a record for Morgan storage!
My neighbor had a '59 +4 that he stored for about twenty years in his back
yard. He used to change the blue tarps every few years when they'd no
longer hold in condensed moisture. 3/4 Group member and Morgan masochist
Eric Elman bought it and I think it's almost finished. He had to replace
both body & chassis.
I hope Jack's has been more carefully stored!
Sorry I can't help you identify the car from the numbers you've given, but
the 4023 number is most likely the VIN. Lift the seat out and look
carefully on the top of the chassis crossmember under the right front
passenger's knees. You might have to scrape a little paint off to get a
clear view, but the same number should be there.
There also might be a body number stamped into the wood on the top of the
right rear wheel arch. This will be different from the VIN, but will help
ID the car. There's another number stamped into the flange that's near the
hinge on the right bonnet half near the back. This number should match the
original engine number. If you find any of these, you can verify the rest
from Morgan Motor Company directly. They are quite helpful.
Best of luck. It's good to hear of another Morgan coming out of mothballs!
