It is much more likely that the car hit the road than parts of the car hit
each other.  Depending on exactly how you came back to earth the most likely
point of contact is the rear valance and rear frame with the road.  This
makes an almighty crash, but doesn't appear to do any damage.  The
suspension has to travel some distance inside the car to touch anything
else, but the frame only has to move 5 inches or so to touch the road.
(Note this is especially an issue in a loaded four seater).
