Chuck, what you say is true about such an early car as yours but for cars
made from at least 1958 on, the factory made tops and tonneaus normally fit
very well. I have come accross poorly made tops that don't fit. But that
was because the individual top was poorly made, not because the factory
pattern was bad. We have installed at least 8 tops and a similar number of
tonneau covers and all but one fit very well.
