I have found two very good Rover V8 Engine Specialist. If anyone is
interested to see what is available other than what is offered through the
trusty Morgan channels, call Yarwood Engineering in WA 541-895-2718/2288 or
D&D Fabrications in Almont, MI at 810-798-2491. Latter one has a nice catalog
with descriptions how to restroke the V8.
Both are very knowlegeable and offer a wide array of tuning and service
parts. They also build some interesting hi-po engines based on the Rover/
Buick V8.
For those interested in tuning/ service parts for all V8 Morgans other than
the trusty Morgan suppliers.
I have found their parts reasonable, $215.00 for a set of 0.40 over pistons,
and $150.00 for a new hotter cam.
Kits are available to do a Rover V8 swap in MGs for those of you interested
in such a swap.
I was glad to learn about these two "specialists" since my local engine
builder with a decent reputation screwed up my engine. It never ran well and
it is being redone by a good friend of mine who is a first rate English Car
mechanic.
Just thought this info may be of interest to someone faced with a similar
dilemma.
