If you are greasing well the squeak is likely to be something loose, check
all the bolts at the front end.
To Grease the sliding pillars you should use a grease for sliding
applications such as a graphite based grease, I think there is a US grease
recommended by Greg Solow in the archive somewhere. Support the car on
good stands on the cross frame with the wheels dangling and the rebound
springs compressed. Make sure you get plenty in there, keep pumping 'til
you see it coming out of the top between the springs; I find that can be
30 or so shots on my grease gun. Then wipe off the excess so it doesn't
get on the brakes.

for the last few months I have noticed a fairy loud squeak from the front
end
when the front suspension is exercised, for example, one wheel hitting the
incline of my driveway. It is like a gate with a rusty hing being moved to
and fro. My Morgan is a '71 +8 with 180,00 miles, and the one-shot front
suspension lubricating tubes were plugged off a few years ago. I grease the
front suspension about every 1,000 miles, which doesn't help, and it is not
the sort of noise I would expect from the sliding pillars-more like
chassis-frame interfaces creaking.
Speaking of greasing the sliding pillars, should I use chassis or
wheel-bearing grease, and should the weight be on the wheels, or on
jack-stands, with the wheels dangling, and the rebound springs compressed?
