Dave: If you can find no external cause for the pedal and pushrod not returning you will need to remove and dismantle the master cyinder. There is a snap ring under the rubber boot that retains the piston. It should slide right out but may require thumping it on a wood block or using air pressure at the brake line connection if it is stuck. You cannot know what is needed untill the cylinder bore is inspected. If it is pitted I would suggest having it sleeved with brass or stainless steel. There are a number of people who do this and can get names for you if you need them. One is White Post Restorations in White Post VA. Let me know what you find. Don |
