Gang, I replaced all the gaskets in my leaking H6 carbs today and during the rebuild happened to notice that the float had a hairline crack and had taken on petrol. It prompted me to check the other carb, that too had fuel in the float. I just looked up the cost of new floats - $33 !!!! EACH It's been a long time, and I can't remember (a) how you get the petrol out of the brass float - do you boil it? and (b) the best way to solder the crack. Any thoughts? Regards, Jeff |
