Dear Ben
I have a set of nf-SAE rethreader taps designed for chasing buggered threads
which would not help you, as they are for chasing threads in holes, not
bolts. I got them from JC Whitney a long time ago, and I don't know if they
still offer them. However, their design is interesting. They are similar to
regular taps, except that the grooves are much narrower, so that there is
correspondingly more threaded surface available. The only clue to the
manufacturer on the box is the name RIMAC. For doing a bolt perhaps a regular
die would work. Dave Collins, San Diego.
