I have a '79 Plus 8, partially disassembled that I am piecing together. There
are 2 cables attached to the steering column. Both are steel flex cables with
a sliding steel cable inside. One is obviously the choke cable, which works
fine.
I have yet to determine what the 2nd cable is for. The pull mechanism for the
other cable has notches in it.
Does anyone know what this 2nd cable does?
Also, are the seat rails attached on the steel crossmembers in the front and
the rear, or are they simply attached to the wood?
I bought two really nice leather seats, but the rails do not extend from
crossmember to crossmember. I can only attach them into the floor board which
to me seems very weak. I' d rather be attached to the frame than to plywood.
How do they come from the factory?
