Dear all:
I have to say that I have a sneaking feeling that discussion of poor paint
finishes on modern cars is missing the main reason by focussing on modern
paint formulations or bumpy metal surfaces. A fish stinks from the head
down, as they say, and if there's poor quality its because there's poor
quality control. I don't think you have to be a tech guru to agree that
can't be that technology has made it HARDER to get a good finish on cars.
Okay, I'll step down from this here soap box.
cheers,
WZ
p.s. Obligatory Morgan content: in an effort to console myself after the
sad news regarding the great race at Laguna Seca, I went out and bought the
Kyoshi 1:18 scale model Morgan 4/4 series II. Its much like mine (OEW with
disk wheels), tho I don't have a red interior. I'm not heavily into these
models but I do think this is a nice example, down to the single pot down
draught carb on that great Kent engine (there he goes again!). One more
thing; the paint finish is superb!
