DFLer's: speaking of Morgans for sale, I haven't seen a Morgan reported
upon in the Auction Express section of Old Cars Weekly for months now.
I wonder if there is a marque in America with a slower turnover rate?
I have to share this one: I was recently asked if I would bring and
drive our Morgan in the Ortonville, Minnesota, "Cornfest Days" Parade
and, in so doing, transport a Cornfest Days Queen candidate. I agreed
and this past Sunday at about 2:00 pm I found myself seated next to a
young lady to whom the Fairy Godmother had not been exceptionally kind.
I know life's not fair, but most people spent more time oohing and
aahing over the car than the candidate - and before very long she
figured that out. So, she got embarrassed and then miffed - and then
she wouldn't wave anymore. Looong parade!!
I don't think there is a moral to the story or at least I can't think of
one.
