I have a 65 +4 with Stromberg carbs and no air cleaners - just the way they
came from the factory. A number of people have told me I'm crazy to run
without air cleaners and I think they are right, but we all know there is
little or no space for them on a +4. Is there anyone out there who has
solved this problem without major re engineering. Thanks

I've a similar issue with my F2 Three Wheeler. It has a Zenith single carb on
the Ford engine with not enough room to fit the stock air cleaner. In fact
there's no way to fit an air cleaner to the stock carb. Stock set up is a
'cover' of sorts over the throat of the carb which would prevent dropping a
small part into the aperature, but not much more. My home is at the end of a
1 mile gravel road in high, dry and dusty New Mexico and I've already been
driving the three wheeler. I located an air cleaner adaptor. I found that
some of the racing supply houses sell a wide variety of air cleaners made for
flexible installation. Some literally look like a bag through which the air
is drawn. They are described by the size of carb throat over to which they
will fit. Have not purchased one yet, but they look like they would do the
job. Not real pretty but effective. Try True Choice. I can find the phone
number if you want. Believe they have a web site as well.
