Well, I guess that answers the question I posted to the Morgan newsgroup
earlier as to whether a 2000cc Pinto/Capri engine would fit in a Morgan. I
was thinking of a 4/4, though. Do you know if it still has the Moss 4 spd
transmission? The Moss box has synchro in the top three gears. To the
casual observer, it can be identified by a nifty little dipstick on top to
check the fluid level through an access hole on top of and towards the back
end of the tranmission tunnel.

Though not at all original, I bet this engine works great in this car. My
wife had a '72 Capri that was quite quick with this same engine. The
Morgan's probably about 600 pounds lighter, maybe even more if the Ford
engine's lighter than the original TR3 mill. I know the Rover V8 they
started fitting in '68 weighed about the same as the TR4, but the Rover had
an aluminum block.
