I use Locktite 515 in leiu of gaskets.
Inner oil seal can be cut/damaged easily by the splines/rough axle- be
gentle.
I use anti-seize on the taper- doesn't do a lot of good- but might help
smetimes. I HATE removing hubs. I put the damn things on the wrong side a few
years ago (about 4AM). Realized it the next AM. Had to pull the axle with the
hub and backing plate hanging on it and take the whole mess down to the shop
to have the hub pressed off- it was like a gunshot when it broke loose.

I know you won't forget- but I have lost three left rear wheels (high
school) by forgeting to cotter the nuts.
