I changed out Matilda's (B1139) engine to a 1600 in 1980. The changeover
requires no peticular modification and is quite easy. I used her
existing exhaust manifold, which is still on her, with no modification
except a half washer. I did get a different intake, but they are easily
found for a Webber from any Pinto 1600. I might mention that if you can
get the later gearbox, that the car becomes more competitive because you
wont have that gap 'twixt 2nd & 3rd. I am short on spares for my 1498
engine so if you would like to part with your existing engine I would be
interested.
