Hey I didn't die. I just happened to have had a LUCAS kind of August.
Won't b6ore you with the details .
Wading through my 800 pieces of Email ( ever notice how email is like
that voltage regulator n the garage that doesn't work but you just can't
throw it out because " there may be something in there I can someday use
?")
Anyway I saw a posting re; the wedge air filter on the Big Morgans and
how much clearance was needed .
Well since I've been out there putting my car back together after my
"ONE WEEK of HEAT and panel replacement back in July , I took some
mesurements for those interested.
First of all when I but the air filter on the car I had to remove the
insulation blocks between the carb and manifold. Second my+ 4 has CD
175s not the SU,
+
Placing a bolt in the air filter hole on the carb and pushing it out
until it hit the bonnet I found 1 3/4/ inches of clearance.
Placing a straight edge between the Bonnet Stop and the front latch hook
( mounted to the fender ) I found 3/4 inch between the straight edge
and the part of the carb which would fit the tightest ( the leading
edge of the air filter mounting flange).
My Box ( Factory ) fits in this space very nicely Thank you .
Remember I don't have the blocks behind the carbs, but have never
noticed a problem.
Well back to reading my mail

over runs to doing cost over runs I be a natural for the Pentagon-
