4/4 air filters

Several weeks ago, Will and others started talking about air filters
especially for the 4/4s.

I have just uploaded 2 crude drawings:
 
  air_a.bmp - a side view of the basic air filter
  air_b.bmp - a top  view of the bottom plate for the filter.

I still need to draw up 1 or 2 more but haven't had the time.  So
I thought I'd at least give you all some idea of what's on my car.

The filter if filled with a wire mesh. I could be replaced with either
a foam element (which you'd have to make) or the course fiber filters
that you can purchase at the hardware store for window airconditioning
units (again, you'd have to cut it up and fit it).

Hope this sheds a little more light on the subject.  Unfortunately,
I don't have a source.  I've heard (somewhere, maybe here) that they
are used on a vw.
