1. Last weekend motivation was high. Work on the '36 SS progressed
almost nonstop for two days. Pulled the engine to gain better access
to the front of the body when it's on the chassis.
2. The body is finally mounted/aligned to the chassis. It's not going
to come off again unless absolutely necessary. I even put the saw
horses it was setting on away. Garage sure looks a lot different after
4 plus years.
3. The upper front cross arm braces are attached to each side of the
body.
4. The front and rear cable brakes are now functional, if you call
cable brakes functional. They do stop the car, was pushed around and
you really have to press on the pedal or pull on the hand brake lever
for them to really work.
5. Did some more wiring.
6. The wheels can now be turned using the steering wheel.
7. In the process of fabricating the clutch linkage (rod).
Plumbing and engine cables are the next projects before I have to find
someone to do a body for me. On the road in 1997 is looking better
every day.
