I know we've been discussing this a bit the past week, and I'm now ready to
tackle the subject. I'm a little confused on exactly what part(s)
of the steering shaft needs to be removed to get to the nut. Is it the upper
section at the u-joint (yellow circle), or the lower section where the
shaft enters the rack (red circle)?

You know, if they had 'slotted' the engine mount instead of just putting a hole
in it, it would be easier to simply unbolt the u-joint and drop
the shaft straight down...
