Check to make sure you did not install the air filter to carb gaskets
incorrectly. If they are upside down they block the vacuum port to the
piston which will make the car really sluggish.
Juat a thought, since you did a carb change.
Also make sure that the float bowl vents are hooked up correctly. If
these are plugged you will start to run out of fuel under load.
