It was only a couple of days ago I read that the first pre-production models 
didn't meet with Nanjing's expectations, and so full production would be 
delayed several months.  As has been the case all along, until the cars are 
actually available for sale at dealers, I'm still not convinced.  They are 
also CKD kits i.e. manufactured in China, final assembly in Longbridge. 
Shades of the MGB in Abingdon, and Australia, however.  I rather think I'm 
going to become a member of that ever-growing and long-lived band of MGers 
that started in the 30s saying "If it isn't designed at Abingdon it isn't an 
MG", then "If its got wind-up windows it isn't blah-blah", then "If it isn't 
built at Abingdon it isn't ..." and now if it isn't designed and 
manufactured by a UK company ...".
