Hey Friends,
Anyone care to comment on non-standard issues
regarding rebuilding the whole brake system on a
USA-spec '70 B Tourer?
The brakes are loosing fluid but as I haven't taken
delivery of the car, I don't know where. My theory is
that if one seal has ruptured, the whole system is a
time bomb waiting to go. Therefore, I usually rebuild
the whole system. I can then drive a little more
comfortably.
I plan to replace the caliper piston seals, rear
brake cylinder seals, front and rear flex hoses and
all seals on and in the master cylinder. I'll have
the rotors turned, if only to true them and the rear
drums turned - for the same reasons. I'll also
replace the pads and shoes.
Any advice regarding this job especially where the
MGBis different, is appreciated.
Regards,
rick
