...not sure of the whole conversaation hereas I wasn't following it at the
beginning....
But I do know the EPA required reduction of zinc dithiophosphate (ZDDP) in
todays oils (those with full API approval) do NOT afford the protection that
oils just 3-5 years ago did. The push these days seems to be going to
cheaper $$ (store shelf generic brands) that still have it like oils
designed for diesel engines and etc.
...a side note.... Redline (and a few others), do still make non-API
approved oils (and plan to continue) that DO still have the original amounts
of ZDDP as they always have.
Do a google search for ZDDP reduction and read about it for
yourselves.
