A couple of kind folks have sent me pictures of their engines and it appears
that the alternator, the smog air pump, and the water pump all are run by
one belt from the crankshaft pully. The only double pully shown appears to
be
the waterpump pully.
So I assume the AC compressor was powered off the water pump? If anyone
with AC could just get me a picuture of this, along with where the idler
pully
attaches, we should be good to go.
I would have thought the pull of an AC compressor on the waterpump pully
would prematurely wear the water pump bearings...???
