Alloy Head

I'm nearing completion of an engine O/H and the original head (and 2
replacements) was badly cracked in the usual spots.  I've come across an alloy
cylinder head and have been told that there is the possibility of leaks at the
gasket when using a standard head gasket.  Has anyone experienced anything of
the sort? Thanks.
