Hello list,
my sister, who is not on this list, is in the process of rebuilding her MGA
1600 MKI. The heater was missing its type plate and she got a new blank one
from one of the usual suspects.
Question is, which number goes into which place. The type plate has 3 blocks
to put data in. Code, Model and Voltage. Clausager states that the heater was
built by Smiths and was of the type F.275 and had an output of 2.75kW. The
heater unit itself was numbered FHR.2453/01 with ohv-engines and FHR.2457/01
with the Twin Cam.
Please, can anyone shed light on which number goes into Code and which into
Model? Were these numbers stamped or engraved into the plate? If stamped, were
they stamped from the front or from the underside?
Thanks for your help.
Eric
