Early twin SUs are far superior to the downdraft Weber some people fit due
to clearance issues with the brake booster. It is not a performance carb like
the side draft models but certainly seems to ride on their reputation -
people apparently like to be able to brag that they have a Weber on their
engine
even when it is one of the downdrafts.
Put SUs on your car and forget about needing to rebuild them for the next
decade or so....
