Roger,
The original batteries weren't very good either. I bought my 72 B new and
replaced the batteries every two or three years and it was a daily driver so
there was no excuse for batteries going bad. I finally gave up and bought a
Group 26 and it lasts 6 or 7 years between replacement.

Subject: Single battery
My '63 MGB "has done ett" another 6 volt battery. When I restore the machine
I'll put twins back in, but I'm getting a bit tired of its consumption
habits (which I think generally reflect the quality of the six-volt
batteries we get these days). Can one of the gentlefolk on this list remind
me of the proper size for a straight drop-in single 12-volt replacement?
My last GT has a group 35 battery in it...someone had cut an extra 4" flap
to fit it. Not looking to do the same.
Thankee.
