Successfully rebuilt the passenger-side front suspension today (swivel axles,
a-arms, bushings, bearings, etc.) but ran into big trouble on the driver's
side. Rear a-arm pivot bolt (in front of a-arm shaft) sheared-off due to nut
being rusted to threads. New pivot on order, as this part is made of
unobtainium from anywhere other than LBC-specific suppliers.
Trunnion pin (on shock) had to be cut-off -- and the pin head is rusted to the
shock (threaded side came out, no problem).
Repeated drilling with successively larger bits has yielded no result as of yet
(other than larger holes in the pin remaining rusted to the shock a-arm). Any
suggestions?
As always, advice is appreciated.
Thanks-
Dan
